ATLANTIC CITY - The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School Complex recently held its annual science fair, drawing enthusiastic participation from students in grades 3 through 8. The event provided an invaluable opportunity for young minds to engage deeply with the scientific method, developing and testing their hypotheses with creativity and rigor.

“It was great, and it was a great opportunity for kids to show what they’ve learned and what they have been thinking about in science,” said Principal Jodi Burroughs.

Throughout the fair, students showcased a wide array of projects, demonstrating their understanding of scientific principles and their ability to apply them in practical experiments. One student even created a science-based vending machine, Burroughs said.

“That was a first,” Burroughs said. “You see volcanoes. You see the water cycle and you see the normal things. The science fair also showed the students’ innovation and their ability  to embrace things that aren’t normally done.”

“Most of the experiments revolved around fixing the environment,” Mingo said.

Teachers offered encouragement and celebrated the students' achievements.
