ATLANTIC CITY — Atlantic City Public Schools has selected a new food service provider for the upcoming school year, aiming to improve the quality and variety of meals for students and staff.

The district voted on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, to award the new contract for school food service management to Aramark Educational Services LLC, effective July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. Aramark will provide goods and services for the district's School Breakfast Program, National School Lunch Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program (dinner program), and Summer Food Service Program, which serves more than 7,000 students and staff daily.

"We are excited to partner with Aramark to offer our students and staff a variety of healthy and delicious meals that meet their diverse needs and preferences," said Superintendent Dr. La’Quetta S. Small. "We believe that good nutrition is essential for academic success and well-being, and we look forward to working with Aramark to enhance our food service program."

School officials said that Aramark was chosen after a competitive bidding process that evaluated proposals based on criteria such as menu quality, nutritional standards, food safety, customer service, and cost.

The district thanked the previous food service provider, Sodexo Food Services, for its prior service and cooperation during the transition period.
