Atlantic City girls beat Jackson Memorial 60-49 for 9th straight win
The Atlantic City High School girls basketball team continued its winning streak with a dominant third-quarter performance Wednesday. Quanirah Montague scored a team-leading 25 points to lead the Vikings to a 60-49 win over Jackson Memorial in a nonconference game. It was the Vikings’ (10-4) ninth straight victory after starting 1-4.

Atlantic City recreation department hosts 3-point shooting contest for community
On a night of competition, the end goal was bringing the community together, and the city's recreation division felt it accomplished that Thursday night with the 2022 Holiday 3-Point Showcase at Dr. Martin Luther King School Complex.Senior basketball player Quanirah Montague partiptated in the Showcase.

Four Atlantic City High School students sign their national letters of intent
The Atlantic City High School library was symbolically filled with hope and accomplishment Tuesday afternoon. Four Vikings seniors signed National Letters of Intent to continue their educations and athletic careers on college scholarships.

Quanirah ‘Nir Nir’ Cherry-Montague becomes top 2023 signee for Sam Purcell, Mississippi State women’s basketball
The 2023 recruiting class for Mississippi State just got one recruit bigger in a big way as forward Quanirah Cherry-Montague committed to and signed with the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Known by most as “Nir Nir,” the 6-foot-6 post player was the highest recruit of first-year head coach Sam Purcell’s first recruiting cycle in Starkville, ranked as the No. 48 player in ESPN’s top 100.

Atlantic City girls top Holy Spirit 63-49 to advance in CAL Tournament
Sanai Garrison-Macon wanted to be a leader Friday. The senior scored a game-high 20 points to lead the fourth-seeded Atlantic City High School girls basketball team to a 63-49 victory over fifth-seeded Holy Spirit in a Cape-Atlantic League Tournament first-round game.

Who made this week's high school sports top-10 list?
The Vikings honored many of their long-time fans by presenting plaques to them before Sunday’s traditional Battle by the Bay finale between Atlantic City and Pleasantville on Sunday. The honorees included Delois Campbell, Ron Jordan, Frank Ervin, Williams Marsh and Wilbur Banks.
