The chess team meets every Thursday, after school, in room G118. New players are always welcome. Most weeks, there are students trying chess for the first time, with no obligation to return. Everyone is invited! There are no tryouts, and no one will be cut. Meetings include lessons, tutorials, over-the-board play, and tournaments. It is often the case that ACHS teachers (time permitting) will join us, so students might have an opportunity to beat one of their teachers in a game of chess. Via online play, Viking Chess Team members will have a chance to compete against high school teams from across the USA, and from all over the world. Let's play chess!
