High school students can apply now to become a BigFuture Ambassador at their school. BigFuture Ambassadors step up and lead by helping other students plan for life after high school. Deadline to apply is January 19th.

The Mighty Writers Teen Fellowship is a paid fellowship program for 9th through 12th graders enrolled in a city high school. Fellows will learn about journalism and storytelling while documenting the communities in which they live.

Joint Apprenticeship Committee - Local Union 322
Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 322 will have available 200 applications for apprenticeship on their website (www.ua322.org). Applications for a five (5) year apprentice program will be open during the following dates: Friday, December 1, 2023 (50 applications 24 hours), Monday, January 1, 2024 (50 applications 24 hours), and Thursday, February 1 - Friday, February 9, 2024 (100 applications) Please see the attachment of qualifications necessary for an applicant to be considered.

Signup for the ASVAB today!
Students can sign up for the ASVAB that will be administered on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 8:15am. The exam will be given to the first fifty (50) students who complete the form. Students must use their Chromebook to take the exam and will be given in C218.

NJGPA Summer Administration
The summer administration of the New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment (NJGPA) for English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics is available from July 24th to July 27th. Students entering 12th grade should check their district Google email to see if they have been requested to participate.

NBCFAE, TCR Scholarship Program
The National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees (NBCFAE) Technical Center Region is announcing its annual call for applicants for its Scholarship Awards Program. The NBCFAE offers cash awards to senior high school students who have been accepted to an institution of higher learning (college, university or trade/technical institute) to help support their academic endeavors and goals. The NBCFAE is committed to helping our youth reach their greatest potential.

West Point Summer Leaders Experience (SLE)
Students really enjoy the Summer Leaders Experience which is a one-week summer camp at West Point. They get to live in the barracks, eat in the mess hall, experience academic workshops for 5 of our 17 academic departments and complete two military days. Students enjoy making friends and working closely with West Point Cadets during their one week. We offer two sessions, 3-9 June and 10-16 June. West Point for Counselors
West Point is hosting our educators visit for school counselors from 10-13 April. Educators get to visit West Point and we pay for you to stay at the Thayer Hotel for the event. You will see our world class facilities, meet our professors and cadets, and meet educators from all over the US. Please see the attached flyer and let me know by Wednesday if you are interested in attending. I have a couple of slots left for the entire Northeast.
