2019 Annual Open Enrollment Information
The deadline for submission of all open enrollment changes for Plan Year 2019 is OCTOBER 26, 2018. Any paperwork received after this date will NOT be processed.
Open enrollment is the time of year when employees should identify their health care needs, review plan options and choose a plan(s) that best fits those needs.
Members have two new plans to choose from for 2019. Both Horizon and Aetna will offer plans under the new “zero co-pay” plan design. The new plans will be called NJ DIRECT ZERO and Aetna Freedom Zero.
Employees of the Atlantic City Board of Education will have the following plans to choose from for Plan Year 2019:
NJ Direct Zero / Aetna Freedom Zero
NJ Direct 20/30
NJ Direct 15
NJ Direct 20/35
NJ Direct 15/25
NJ Direct HD 1500
Open enrollment is your annual opportunity to examine your medical coverage, and to make any changes to ensure that you and your dependents get the coverage that you will need in 2019.
Please take the following steps:
1. REVIEW - Review the attached Medical Plan Design Comparison, which has a side-by-side comparison for each of the medical plans.
Special note regarding Prescription Drug coverage: Prescription Drug coverage is included in the medical plan in which the subscriber is enrolled. Please refer to # 6 in the notes on the bottom of the 2nd page of the comparison.
2. CALCULATE - to calculate your healthcare contribution, please refer to the attached Percentage of Premium Calculation Worksheet and Rate Chart.
3. APPLY - Complete the attached Health &/or Dental Enrollment forms if you wish to make any changes to your current plan(s). Return the properly completed forms (and, if applicable, required documentation for dependents) to:

If you are not making any changes to your medical/prescription or dental plans, NO ACTION is required on your part to maintain your current coverage for Plan Year 2019.
WAIVERS: If you currently waive coverage, you do not need to complete new waiver forms. Yearly waivers are not required. However, if you experience a change in your insurance coverage, you MUST submit all new Waiver forms and required proof of coverage within 30 days of the change in coverage.
