District Leadership Team Meets to Reflect on Progress and Chart the District's Path Forward

ATLANTIC CITY – On Friday, February 6, 2026, the Atlantic City Public Schools Leadership Team convened at the Stockton University Atlantic City campus, bringing together administrators from each of the district’s eleven schools.

The meeting’s goal was clear: provide a transparent, comprehensive view of how the district was performing academically and where it was headed. As the clock approached 8:40 a.m., the room buzzed with anticipation. Department heads prepared to share the latest data, hoping to spark conversation and inspire collaborative solutions.

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. La’Quetta S. Small, said the meeting provided one of four checkpoints throughout the year.

“Our quarterly Leadership Team meetings are an important opportunity to take a clear, honest look at how our district is performing academically while also ensuring that our work remains aligned with where we are headed,” Dr. Small said. “These sessions allow us to examine data, celebrate progress, address challenges, and collaborate across departments so that every decision we make is grounded in what is best for our students.”

Throughout the morning, charts and graphs illuminated the screen as presenters highlighted student performance trends, growth areas, and challenges. Principals leaned in, jotting notes and exchanging thoughtful glances, apparently seeking insight for their own school’s path forward. Community stakeholders sat alongside the educators, their presence a testament to the partnership between families, neighborhoods, and schools.

“By coming together as a leadership team, we are strengthening accountability, sharpening our instructional focus, and continuing to move Atlantic City Public Schools forward with purpose and intention,” Dr. Small said.
