Capt. Stephen D. Nagiewicz
I am a Master Merchant Mariner for Ocean Vessels, commercial diver and acknowledged authority on shipwrecks, publishing articles on the oceans, scuba, shipwrecks in national publications worldwide and has been featured on television, magazines and newspapers.
I have worked with the NJ DEP and Fish and Game on developing their Artificial Reef Program through the placement of materials on selected reef sites and on-site monitoring.
I am a Fellow and former Executive Director of the Explorers Club. and Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society. and currently serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors-Shark Research Institute. All are international non-profit scientific organizations.
I received my BS degree from Stockton State College, Pomona, NJ and I am working towards my Masters of Education in Science Curriculum.
I have been an Oceanographer for 30 years including managing the James J. Howard Marine Sciences Laboratory for the State of New Jersey at Sandy Hook as well as my own business of Ocean Exploration.
