Important events in your family life can affect your health plan coverage. It is your responsibility to notify the Benefits Office of any change in family status. Take steps to update your coverage immediately when one of these events occurs:
You must notify the District's Benefits Office of any of the above events within 30 days of the event. Failure to do so will result in a forfeiture of COBRA rights and responsibility for any premium contributions taken for dependents who are no longer eligible or forfeit your right to enroll in the District's plans until the next open enrollment period.
